Jackson National Life Insurance Company Sr. Social Media Specialist in Nashville, Tennessee

Job Purpose

The Sr. Social Media Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for all social media related questions, activities, and company policies. In addition, the Sr. Specialist works with various departments throughout the organization – including Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, Legal, and Compliance – to manage and execute messaging and distribution strategies for external digital communications.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Executes Jackson’s social media presence strategy, enhancing the company’s reputation across the industry and building our external brand.

  • Plans, creates, and distributes social media post content to various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.

  • Ensures that all social media content and activities meet company legal and compliance guidelines.

  • Owns and grows social selling program through strategic partnerships across the organization.

  • Grows leadership-level social media adoption by curating and providing engaging content for senior executives.

  • Coordinates paid social advertising across multiple channels, providing recommendations for budget optimization and media spend.

  • Works with Graphic Designers to develop creative visual elements for social media.

  • Works with external contractors on key projects, such as executive social media onboarding and HR recruiting strategy.

  • Actively monitors social media activity to track and report on relevant mentions of Jackson and its subsidiaries.

  • Analyzes day-to-day metrics and compiles data to be distributed in monthly reports.

  • Provides other Marketing project support as needed.

Other Duties

  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in the management of all social media channels on which Jackson maintains a presence, including Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube, as well as the advertising platforms within each of these channels.

  • Experience using social media management platform(s).

  • Knowledge of and passion for emerging social media and content marketing trends and best practices.

  • Experience using Adobe Analytics or similar website analytics platform.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, including command of AP Style.

  • Strong knowledge of public relations and media relations strategies.

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry; preferably insurance, investment, and retirement planning products and services.

  • Demonstrate solid research and analytical skills, as well as the ability to think critically and strategically.

  • Illustrate a blend of strategic vision and execution-oriented skillset.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a high-stress environment while remaining deadline-oriented.

  • Ability to gather relevant data, measure results and adjust social media strategies accordingly.

  • Ability to produce content/messaging that adheres to existing rules in a highly-regulated environment.

  • Innovative and creative with the ability to execute quickly and effectively.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, Business, or a related field required.

5+ years of experience in social media relations, corporate communications, or related experience required.

Project management, vendor management, and media purchasing experience required.

Experience in creating and executing corporate multi-channel social media campaigns required.
