Waystar Instructional Design Intern in Louisville, Kentucky

What is the purpose of this position?

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic intern who is eager to learn about Waystar and the healthcare payments industry. The ideal candidate will be looking to enhance their career and expand their skill set. This unique experience will provide insight into a dynamic ever-changing and evolving industry, coupled with the opportunity to join a great company like Waystar.

As part of this internship experience, you will expand on your professional development skills as well as gain first-hand knowledge of a niche within the healthcare industry. Interns will assist the company with a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, learning about the healthcare revenue management cycle, enriching data for our clients, reporting and insights and assisting across teams on various projects.

As the Instructional Design Intern, you will be a member of the commercial enablement team. In this role, you will assist in providing training content that supports new team member onboarding and daily operations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Looking for some details?

Assist with Instructional Design Creation

  • Collaborate with sales, product, marketing, implementation, and other subject matter experts to research, design, and refresh training content

  • Support the management of course development timelines and hold peers and SMEs accountable to agreed upon timelines

  • Assist in creating learning materials including e-learning modules, facilitator and participant guides, PowerPoint decks, participant handouts, job aids, etc.

  • Conduct research on educational best practices, learning theories, and instructional technologies to inform design decisions

  • Assist in creation of training surveys and analyze employee feedback on course effectiveness

  • Performcontent quality reviews with team to ensure highest level of accuracy and quality

Training Design Coordination

  • Work with Senior Instructional Designer, Trainers, and Training Coordinator to ensure alignment and timeline adherence for quarterly training calendar and new hire modules

  • Assist with project management of content creation and refresh including a revamp of existing solution modules, playbooks, and tools training

Learning Management System Administration

  • Work with Training Coordinator to monitor, update, and report employee data in the Learning Management System (LMS) to document completion of required training

  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Gain understanding of the basics of our company/industry and how we sell our products

  • Learn the core fundamentals of selling

  • Training on the systems/platforms used at Waystar like Salesforce, Outreach, Zoominfo, Definitive Healthcare and the importance of data quality

  • 2nd Semester Junior or Senior; 3.2 or above GPA

  • Actively involved on campus and/or community

  • Majors/Minors: Open

  • Interest in healthcare and/or technology

  • Curiosity to go deeper into the projects given

  • Ability to adapt and pivot with competing priorities and/or deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)

Interview process:

  • 30-minute virtual interview with TA and Manager/Buddy
