How You’ll Contribute

  • Showcase your Analytical Expertise: Apply precision CAD principles and systematic problem-solving techniques to analyze and validate components, subsystems, or product. Lead technical feasibility assessments for inventive concepts and implement streamlined process tools. Collaborate seamlessly with fellow CAD and Engineering professionals, gathering valuable insights, receiving feedback, and engaging in comprehensive reviews to maintain a standard of analytical excellence. Drive the refinement of analytical practices and contribute to the effectiveness of the CAD design team through coaching and the implementation of best practices.

  • Foster Collaborative Success: Partner seamlessly with cross-functional teammates in Engineering, Marketing, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, Program Management, and Industrial Design. Tackle tough decisions head-on, leveraging diverse team perspectives to generate superior solutions. Propose actionable next steps and drive alignment with business leadership to launch top-quality products swiftly and consistently.

  • Leverage Global Talent: Engage, coach, and develop Centers of Excellence and Technical Centers worldwide, ensuring seamless project delivery and promoting parts reuse for maximum efficiency.

  • Contribute to our Continuous Improvement: Analyze designs through the lens of environmental sustainability, suggesting improvements that align with our dedication to excellence in the realm of CAD design. Establish connections with customers and industry experts to grasp installation requirements, pinpointing opportunities for quality enhancements. Your focus on continuous improvement will be pivotal in refining and elevating our CAD design processes.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Industrial Design to craft efficient architectures and platforms, enhancing quality, supply chain flexibility, and speed-to-market.

  • Produce comprehensive design artifacts for entire category collections, guiding projects from concept to production release. This includes creating detailed drawings, components, and assemblies with precise specifications and tolerances.

  • Harness CAE tools for FEA, CFD, and relevant simulations throughout all project phases, ensuring robust designs.

  • Facilitate cross-functional engineering design reviews to uphold the integrity of design deliverables.

  • Manage prototype procurement from internal and external model shops as necessary.

  • Lead advanced development concepts, products, and projects through stretch assignments.

  • Develop services at India and Mexico Tech Centers to provide holistic design solutions aligned with Kohler's specifications, standards, and policies.

  • Generate initial Bills of Materials for New Product Development (NPD) SKU collections.

  • Contribute to legacy product collection activities, enhancing quality, delivery, and customer service.

  • Uphold Kohler design specifications and ensure product artifacts adhere to revision control, company PLM standards, and policies. Join us in shaping the future of design excellence

Skills/Requirements

  • Possess associate degree in engineering, related field, or combination of experiences.

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience and proficiency in CAD software – preferably Creo/Windchill interface.

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Exhibit ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Present strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Hold experience or knowledge of plumbing products, manufacturing processes and materials desirable.

  • Ability to coach, mentor and lead early career engineers and CAD Designers through individual and relevant development plans.

  • Candidates may be subject to CAD proficiency test.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The salary range for this position is $63,100 - $79,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
