This role will be starting with 1-year contract terms with full benefits.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager, Sustainability will report into the Snr Director of Sustainability within the Operations team. (S)he will lead & support Asia’s priority sustainability projects across product, packaging, upcycling, consumer experience and more, leveraging their sustainability expertise. They will work closely with each local market team in supporting execution. They will be able to lead multiple workstreams independently and have exceptional project management skills. (S)he will support the set up regional operational processes across APAC to embed sustainability across the organization’s key product and GTM functions. This includes being responsible for documenting and developing operational guidelines, best practices and education/training programs. This role covers both brands and all local APAC markets. The senior manager will also occasionally be supporting their supervisor in aligning with global counterparts on the CK, TH and CR Global teams.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Support Snr Director in bringing our sustainability vision to life through the operationalization of Asia priority projects under PVH+ Plan

  • Proactively identify new sustainability opportunities for PVH, CK and TH and add to the strategic plan

  • Support the budgeting and prioritization of regional and in-market projects on a quarterly basis

  • Be able to lead and represent Asia sustainability independently in regional and in-market meetings, including global working groups, steering committees and workshops

  • Guide key project teams at the region and in local markets to ensure the timely delivery of projects with exceptional project management

  • Ensure Asia sustainable business priorities are deployed across the organization in an effective manner by establishing and documenting clear processes to embed the sustainability decision making points across the organization

  • Continuous improvement and documentation of clear RACIs for the new sustainable processes in collaboration with regional and local market teams

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve and streamline our current processes and RACIs on a regular (quarterly or bi-annual) basis

  • Support the creation of best practice sustainability tracking tools and reporting mechanisms to measure our sustainability progress, working with IT, Global and Supply teams as necessary

  • Establish and distill insights from regular reporting of sustainability data at the region and in local markets on metrics including % of tag-on buy with sustainable materials, processes

  • Ensure sustainability decision making points are embedded within Asia for Asia design and our current End to End planning processes – merging and streamlining where possible

  • Lead the establishment of Asia product claim and legislation requirements by market and establish regular socialization with relevant global brand and CR teams including the Human rights and environmental legislation committee

  • Lead the development of brand and product sustainability content for CK and TH Asia for consumer facing initiatives including website banners, PDP pages and separate sustainability tab; including CRM content

  • Support global CR & raw material teams in setting up the product claim certification database, as the key contact point representing Asia

  • Set up regional and local market responsibilities and approval procedures for the upcycling and recycle programs; establishing a circular product framework for Asia that can be shared back to global and brand teams

  • Ensure relevant sustainability guidelines, decks & training materials are communicated and shared with all regions in the business e.g. sustainable product guidelines, brand seasonal training manuals

  • Develop strategy and calendar around associate engagement for sustainability, including of events, internal and external training

  • Initiate thought sharing and engagement across sustainability advocate group

  • Update our database of Asia consumer and competitor insights on sustainability, working with consumer insights teams and conducting external research on a regular basis

DECISION MAKING:

Strong influencing and project management skills. Escalation and ability to provide recommendations and guide teams to make decisions in a timely manner.

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY:

This role requires a candidate who is proactive and takes a high degree of initiative as it requires co-creation, socialization and influencing of multiple stakeholders across the business to make progress. The ability to work well within ambiguity, pressure of multiple deadlines and with a matrix organization across regions is critical.

LONGER TERM:

Genuine interest in the sustainability space, including an ambition to grow and develop with the company as we ramp up our sustainability efforts over the next 18 months to 3 years will be valued. This candidate would be developed to take on additional responsibility with 12 to 18 months e.g. run projects mostly independently with guidance from supervisor.

ENVIRONMENT: Fast paced environment, matrix organization.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

  • Previous sustainability experience within a large corporation is a must, with specialist sustainability expertise desired. Must have keen interest and passion for the topic. 6 years’ experience or more in an MNC matrix organization with successful track record in delivering projects. Preferably someone with a consumer industry background with GTM/product development experience.

  • Some start-up experience is also valuable.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree

  • Positive and team-oriented attitude with a proactive approach, exceptional work ethic

  • Ability to think and react quickly, produce deliverables on tight turnarounds

  • Asian languages a plus: Chinese, Korean, Japanese
