BlackRock APAC ETF Platform Manager, Associate in Hong Kong, Hong Kong

BlackRock’s Global Markets & Index Investments (“BGM”) manages more than $5.3 trillion in global passive equity assets across Global Developed Markets, Emerging Markets, Commodities and REITs. The group offers passive equity investors one of the industry's broadest arrays of investment choices, including ETFs (iShares), commingled funds, mutual funds, and separate accounts. In APAC, we currently offer ETFs in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan, for local investor base as well as global investors, who want to trade in Asian time-zone.

Role Description and Responsibilities

As our ETF operating platform continues to evolve into further scale and sophistication, we are offering a position in the BGM APAC ETF Platform Team to design and implement changes in our APAC ETF range by engaging with internal and external partners both globally and in the region. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about driving projects and championing changes in a high-energy diverse environment. We also expect this individual to be committed to excellence, be a team player and proactively create value for the broader project team and function. The role is based in Hong Kong.

Skillsets

To be successful in this role, you will need an understanding of one or more areas described below as well as very strong project management skills and base knowledge and understanding of ETFs:

  • Capital markets and financial instruments.

  • Trade lifecycle and global custody services.

  • Fund accounting and tax for collective investment schemes.

  • Service provider management.

  • ETF ecosystems in APAC, including primary market/settlement systems.

  • Legal and regulatory framework of ETFs in APAC.

  • BlackRock’s functional areas and their roles, including but not limited Capital Markets, Equity and Fixed Income Portfolio Management, Product Strategy, Fund Accounting, Onboarding and Technology.

  • Technology proficiency in one or more areas: Data model and data feed interactions, SQL, APIs, and SWIFT.

  • Operational risk management.

  • Business-level written and oral communication skills in Mandarin.

Qualification

  • Bachelor or equivalent degree with strong record of academic achievement.

  • 3-5 years of financial services experience, in asset management or investment banking.

  • Ability to build and effectively maintain relationships with business leaders, corporate functions and external partners and providers.

  • Strong project management, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and organizational skills, and keen attentions to detail.

  • Superb written and oral communication skills in English.
