The Charles Evans Center (CEC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center, providing comprehensive medical, dental and mental health services to both adult and pediatric patients in the community. We are currently seeking a part-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to work in our Glen Cove clinic.

The Charles Evans Center is a 22,000 square-foot healthcare and adult services center which enables CEC to provide the highest quality of care in an environment that reflects the respect and commitment we have for individuals with developmental disabilities.

In this vital role, you will:

  • Perform psychiatric health assessments and data collection, focusing on behavioral, psychological, cognitive and cultural needs of the patients.

  • Utilize the nursing process, current standards of professional practice and standards of care in assessing patient needs and developing plans of care.

  • Diagnose and prescribe treatment interventions for the mental health patient and assess the patient’s response to prescribed treatment modalities.

  • Prescribe medication regimens for the patient and utilize an outcome-oriented approach to assess patient’s response to prescribed regimens.

We require:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing, currently registered in New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse.

  • Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and Board Certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive privileges as outlined by New York State laws.

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a practicing Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Three years of experience preferred.

  • Clinical knowledge and experience in managing care of the substance abuse population is preferred.

  • Write prescriptions for medications utilizing their personal NYS license and DEA number.
