About the Role:

As our Principal Data Analyst you will join a newly established team within OptumRx responsible for delivering a Pharmacy Centre of Excellence. You will provide analytics and insights related to primary revenue drivers as well as supporting process improvements across the 5 Optum owned pharmacy network. You will also have the opportunity to develop new data products for external customers.

Within the role, you will build relationships with our partners across many functions, including Supply Chain, Finance, Network Relations and Clinical.

We’re looking for someone with a quantitative mindset, a strong aptitude for complex problem solving and process improvement with well-developed communication and technical skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Role requires leading projects and or segment teams, review work performed by others, and recommend improvements, motivate and mentor team members.

· Develop new concepts, technologies and products to meet emerging business requirements to support data and service product and programs, contracting, sales and invoicing.

· Strong analytical skills including the ability to understand complex problems, break them down into manageable components, and apply analytical techniques to find solutions.

· Help drive these solutions for both Internal and external customers

· Actively consult with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure appropriate business content is incorporated into analytic approaches. Anticipate stakeholder needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them.

· Performs complex conceptual analyses and deliver well-engineered, scalable data products to support integrated analytics and reporting

· Rapidly develop new insights and iterate upon those insights to drive business decisions.

· Create annotated Data Bricks code and documentation describing analytics methodologies, data product designs using layman’s terms that will serve as the documented technical requirements for IT partners to scale and productionize analytics solutions

· Efficiently deliver on ad-hoc analysis requests from a wide range of stakeholders

· Work closely with Finance, Treasury, Compliance, INR, legal and other constituents to coordinate activity and ensure ORx remains compliant, competitive, and proactive.

Required Qualifications:

· MS Azure, SQL, Machine Learning experience

· Proven work experience with FMCG, Pharma or any Retail experience preferred

· Demonstrated ability to own solution delivery with strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills

· Comfortable analyzing and interpreting large volumes of data from disparate data sources with the ability to error proof the output of analyses

· Quantitative mindset and ability to understand complex processes

· Experience in creating rapid prototypes (ETL, Analytics logic)

· Strong communication skills, able to work with stakeholders from multiple levels and disciplines

Preferred Qualifications:

· Undergraduate degree in discipline with strong analytical focus (analytics, mathematics, statistics, engineering etc.

· Experience in delivering predictive and/or prescriptive analytics in an industry setting that yielded real business value.

· Experience working in health informatics or within the healthcare industry or prior experience with Clinical data would be advantageous

· Computer science qualification or experience
