Principal Financial Group Analyst, Fund Accounting in Des Moines, Iowa

What You'll Do

In this role you will learn the various team rotations including reconciliation, transactions, daily journal and pricing of mutual funds. The work includes research, analytics and communication with both internal and external partners for the mutual funds. In addition, performing day-to-day fund accounting activities including calculating and reporting the daily net asset value, verifying trades and transactions, balancing cash and position holdings, reviewing and closing exceptions, and resolving discrepancies. In addition, you will compile information for monthly and quarterly reporting and semi-annual and annual audits. As a Fund Accountant I, you're responsible for ensuring all activities performed are completed in compliance with established regulatory and internal control procedures and guidelines!

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent required; strong preference towards a bachelor's degree in Accounting with exposure to finance or other analytical course work

  • 1+ years of relevant experience preferred

  • Previous internship working in related field preferred

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, time management, interpersonal and communication skills is required

  • Detail oriented, able to maintain a high degree of accuracy, meet established deadlines, able to balance multiple tasks and prioritize optimally

  • Self-starter, and have good customer service skills

  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and effectively communicate with internal and external contacts

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$27.40 - $32.45 / hour

Time Off Program

Personal Time Off (PTO) is provided to hourly (non-exempt) employees and provides a set amount of accrued time earned each pay period. Employees can use their PTO for vacation, personal or short-term illness.

Work Environments

This role offers in-office and hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
